Bobrisky Responds to Claims of Bribery
Popular Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju, widely known as Bobrisky, has finally addressed serious allegations made by social media activist Verydarkman (VDM). In a leaked voice recording, VDM accused Bobrisky of bribing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to evade a money laundering case.
Bobrisky, who was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12, 2024, has faced scrutiny regarding whether he actually served his time. VDM’s claims suggest that the social media personality used his financial resources to manipulate the legal system and avoid incarceration.
As the controversy unfolds, Bobrisky’s response has been highly anticipated by fans and critics alike, adding further drama to this ongoing saga.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced an immediate investigation into allegations made against popular Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju, known as Bobrisky. The Head of Media and Publicity for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that Chairman Ola Olukoyede is taking the claims seriously following a viral voice recording in which social media activist Verydarkman (VDM) accused Bobrisky of bribing the agency with N15 million to evade a money laundering case.
In response to these serious allegations, Bobrisky took to Instagram to firmly deny any wrongdoing. He stated, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
The controversy erupted after VDM criticized Bobrisky for allegedly refusing to repay a N4 million debt borrowed from a friend, igniting a social media firestorm. As the investigation unfolds, both Bobrisky and the EFCC are at the center of public scrutiny.
